About Schoolhouse Flowers

A very warm welcome to Schoolhouse Flowers.  My name is Annie Thompson and I grow and arrange seasonal cut flowers from my cutting garden here in the beautiful soft rolling hills of the Scottish Borders.  Our seasonal flowers are generally available from the end of April through to September/October, weather dependant.  The flowers I grow lend themselves to a more informal "just picked from the garden" feel with unusual varieties not available from a traditional high street florist.

Are you planning your wedding and would like a more natural feel for your flowers, then come and have a wander around the garden and see for yourself.  I am delighted to make an appointment for you to come and see what would be flowering at the time of year you are planning your wedding.  We can chat about what will be in season and get a much better idea of the style you are looking for.

A very popular option for brides is my "DIY Buckets of Blooms" to create your own beautiful and unique wedding flowers. This DIY option is great for creative people who want to try their hand at arranging their own flowers or for a talented family member to get involved.

Alternatively, you can arrange the flowers for tables at your venue and we can provide the bouquets and buttonholes.  I know my flowers and I know exactly what and when to pick to get the most beautiful blooms, what has amazing scent and then put them together in a simple unstructured style that is unique to you, a one off!
If you are planning your wedding outwith my growing season, please get in touch as I can source flowers from other growers around the UK and Dutch wholesale markets.

If you are looking for a beautiful posy or hand tied bunch of flowers as a last minute gift, please visit the flower stall outside our house in Skirling during the growing season or alternatively get in touch to organise a bouquet for local delivery or collection.  I am not a regular high street florist, so I do not pick flowers and then wait for orders.  I require 24 hours’ notice to pick and condition the flowers before making them up for delivery.
